Repentance – Righteous Judgment

Repentance – Righteous Judgment

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, I want to talk to you about the importance of being unashamed of Jesus’ incarnation. The incarnation is a central doctrine of Christianity, and it is what sets our faith apart from all other religions. It is the foundation of our faith, and it is essential to our understanding of who God is and what he has done for us.

The Gospel of John tells us that « the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us » (John 1:14, NIV). This means that Jesus, the Son of God, took on human form and lived among us. He didn’t just appear to be human, he was fully human, with all the limitations and weaknesses that come with being human.

But why is this so important? The reason is that through his incarnation, Jesus was able to fully identify with our struggles, our pain, and our sin. He was able to experience the full range of human emotions, from joy and happiness to sorrow and grief. And because of his humanity, he was able to die for our sins and reconcile us to God.

The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 2:6-8, « Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! » (NIV). This passage tells us that Jesus, who was equal with God, humbled himself and became a servant, taking on human likeness, and ultimately, dying on a cross for our sins.

So, what does it mean to be unashamed of Jesus’ incarnation? It means that we fully embrace the reality of what Jesus has done for us, and we are not ashamed to share this truth with others. It means that we are willing to identify with Jesus and follow him, even when it is difficult or unpopular. It means that we recognize that the message of the cross may be foolishness to some, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18).

In conclusion, let us be unashamed of Jesus’ incarnation, recognizing that it is the foundation of our faith and the reason we have hope in this life and the next. Let us fully embrace the reality of what Jesus has done for us, and let us boldly proclaim this truth to the world around us. May we all be unashamed of the gospel, and may we live our lives in a way that reflects the love and grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
